Here's a simple 6-step recipe to make masoor dal cheela that is healthy and suitable for weight loss.

Soak the dal, rinse 1 cup of masoor dal under running water, then soak it in enough water for about 2 hours. drain the water after soaking.

Make the batter, in a blender, add the soaked dal, green chilies, ginger, and salt. blend to a smooth batter, adding water as needed to achieve a pourable consistency.

Add veggies, transfer the batter to a mixing bowl. Stir in chopped onions and coriander leaves for added flavor and nutrition.

Heat the pan, heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking oil.

Cook the cheela, pour a ladleful of batter onto the hot pan, spreading it into a circle. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, until it turns golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.

Serve, remove the cheela from the pan and serve hot with yogurt or green chutney for dipping
