Here's how to make Jeera Rice at home in 5 simple steps.

Rinse and Soak Rice, rinse 1 cup of basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. soak the rice in water for about 20-30 minutes, then drain.
Cook the Rice, in a pan, add 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. bring to a boil, then add the drained rice. cover and cook on low heat until the rice is done and all water is absorbed fluff with a fork once cooked.
Temper the Cumin Seeds, in another pan, heat 2 tablespoons of ghee or oil. add 1 tablespoon of cumin seeds and let them crackle and turn slightly brown.
Mix Rice and Jeera, once the cumin seeds are fragrant, add the cooked rice to the pan. gently mix the rice with the cumin seeds, ensuring that the rice is evenly coated.
Garnish and Serve, the Jeera Rice with fresh coriander leaves. serve hot with your favorite curry or raita.
