Here's how you can whip up some homemade French fries in your very own kitchen.

Peel and Cut, Peel potatoes and cut them into evenly sized sticks.

Soak, Soak the potato sticks in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Drain and Dry, Drain the potatoes and pat them dry thoroughly with a clean towel.

First Fry, Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy bottomed pot to 325°F (165°C) and fry the potatoes in batches for 3-4 minutes until soft but not browned.

Drain and Cool, Remove the fries, drain on paper towels, and let them cool completely.

Second Fry, Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C) and fry the potatoes again in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.

Season and Serve, Drain on paper towels, season with salt, and serve hot.
