Easy And Quick Misal Pav Recipe
Misal pav is a popular Maharashtrian dish that consists of sprouted moth beans curry served with pav (bread rolls) and garnished with various toppings. Here's a simple recipe to make misal pav:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sprouted moth beans (matki)
- 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
- 2 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon misal masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 4-5 cups water
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Pav (bread rolls)
Instructions:
Step 1. Heat oil and add chopped onions. Saute until they turn translucent.
Step 2. Add minced garlic and ginger. Saute for a minute.
Step 3. Add chopped green chilies and tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
Step 4. Add turmeric powder, misal masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for another minute.
Step 5. Add sprouted moth beans and water. Mix well, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the beans are cooked and the curry thickens.
Step 6. Once the curry is ready, adjust the consistency by adding more water if needed. Check for seasoning and adjust accordingly.
Step 7. To serve, place a ladleful of misal curry in a bowl
Step 8. Serve hot with pav and optional toppings like chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves, farsan, sev, and lemon wedges on the side.
