Easy Recipe: Singhare Ki Puri for Festive Season

Ingredients:

- 1 cup Singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour)

- 2 medium-sized boiled and mashed potatoes

- 1 green chili, finely chopped (adjust to taste)

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon black pepper powder

- 1 teaspoon sendha namak (rock salt), or as per taste

- Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped

- Oil for deep frying

- Water, as needed

Instructions:

Step 1. Prepare the Dough:

- In a mixing bowl, combine Singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour), mashed potatoes, chopped green chili, cumin seeds, black pepper powder, rock salt, and chopped coriander leaves.

- Mix well to form a dough-like consistency. If the dough is too dry, add a little water at a time until you achieve the desired consistency. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

Step 2. Shape the Puri:

- Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls.

- Take one ball of dough and flatten it slightly between your palms.

Step 3. Roll Out the Puri:

- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

- Place a dough ball on a clean surface and gently roll it out into a small circle using a rolling pin. The puri should be neither too thick nor too thin.

Step 4. Fry the Puri:

- Once the oil is hot, carefully slide the rolled-out puri into the hot oil.

- Fry until it puffs up and turns golden brown on both sides, gently pressing down with a slotted spoon if needed.

- Remove the fried puri from the oil using a slotted spoon and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 5. Repeat the Process:

- Repeat the same process with the remaining dough balls, rolling them out and frying them until all the puris are done.

Step 6. Serve Hot:
