Marinate the chicken, in a bowl, mix chicken, turmeric, salt, lemon juice, and half of the crushed black pepper. let it rest for 30 minutes to absorb flavors.

Heat the coconut oil, in a deep pan or kadhai, heat coconut oil on medium flame. add curry leaves and green chilies, and sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.

Saute the onions, add sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown. stir occasionally to ensure even caramelization.

Add ginger-garlic paste, mix in ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2-3 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

Cook the chicken, add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat until it turns slightly golden.

Add the masalas, sprinkle red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and the remaining black pepper. stir well so the chicken gets coated evenly with spices.

Simmer until tender, cover the pan and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. if needed, add a splash of water to prevent sticking.

Final touch and serve, check seasoning, adjust salt and pepper, and cook uncovered for 2-3 more minutes to thicken the gravy. garnish with fresh curry leaves and serve hot.
