Soak and cook peas, soak peas overnight, drain and pressure cook with water and salt until tender.
Prepare masala base, heat oil, saute onions, chilies, and curry leaves until translucent. add ginger and garlic paste, cook until fragrant.
Add spices and tomato, mix in turmeric and coriander powders, cook briefly. add tomato, cook until soft.
Combine peas and coconut milk, add cooked peas, stir to coat with masala. pour in coconut milk, adjust consistency with water if needed. season with salt.
Simmer and finish, bring to a boil, simmer for 5–7 minutes. stir in garam masala. garnish with coriander leaves, serve.
