Here's how to make delicious Beetroot halwa for a tasty fasting this Mahashivratri.
Heat ghee & saute beetroot, in a pan, heat 2 tbsp ghee and saute grated beetroot for 5 minutes until slightly soft.
Cook in milk, pour 1.5 cups milk, mix well, and cook on a low flame until the beetroot absorbs the milk and stir occasionally.
Sweeten it, add ¼ cup jaggery and stir well until it melts and blends with the halwa.
Flavor it, add ½ tsp cardamom powder for aroma and mix well.
Garnish & serve, add chopped nuts and raisins, stir, and cook for another 2 minutes.
Enjoy warm, serve hot as a vrat-friendly sweet treat.
