How to make moong dal payasam at home.

Roast and Cook Dal, dry roast 1/2 cup moong dal until aromatic. cook it with 2 cups water until soft, mash lightly, and set aside.

Make Jaggery Syrup, dissolve 1/2 cup jaggery in 1/4 cup water, strain to remove impurities, and keep aside.

Combine Dal and Syrup, mix the jaggery syrup into the cooked dal and simmer for 5-7 minutes to blend flavors.

Add Coconut Milk, stir in 1 cup thick coconut milk and cook gently for 2-3 minutes on low heat without boiling.

Fry Dry Fruits, fry cashews and raisins in ghee until golden and add to the payasam.

Serve, garnish with cardamom powder and enjoy warm or chilled.
