Here's how to make Gujarati Upvas Vada for this Mahashivratri vrat at home.
Soak sabudana, rinse 1 cup sabudana and soak it for 4-5 hours until soft. drain excess water.
Prepare the mixture, mash boiled potatoes and mix with soaked sabudana, crushed roasted peanuts, chopped green chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, black pepper, and rock salt.
Form the dough, knead everything into a soft, non-sticky dough without adding water.
Shape the vadas, take small portions, roll into balls, and flatten into round vadas.
Heat oil, heat oil in a deep pan over medium flame for frying.
Fry Until golden, fry the vadas in batches until they turn golden brown and crispy. drain excess oil.
