Here's how to make soft and thin rotis in just 6 easy steps.
Knead a soft dough, in a bowl, mix flour and salt. gradually add warm water and knead into a soft, pliable dough. add a little oil, knead again, and let it rest for 20–30 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.
Divide & roll, divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls. lightly dust with dry flour and roll each into a thin, even circle.
Heat the tawa, heat a tawa on medium-high heat until hot.
Cook the roti, place the rolled roti on the hot tawa and cook for 30 seconds or until bubbles appear. flip and cook the other side for another 30 seconds.
Puff it up, flip again and press lightly with a spatula, the roti should puff up.
Serve warm, apply ghee if desired and serve hot with curry, dal, or vegetables.
