Prepare the Batter, mix the dosa batter well and ensure it's of pouring consistency. add a pinch of salt if needed.
Prepare the Onion Mixture, combine the chopped onion, green chili, and coriander leaves in a bowl. set aside.
Heat the Pan, a non-stick pan or tawa and grease it lightly with oil.
Cook the Uttapam, pour a ladleful of dosa batter onto the pan and spread it slightly to make a thick pancake. sprinkle the onion mixture evenly on top. drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges and cook on medium heat until the bottom turns golden.
Flip and Cook, gently flip the uttapam and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes. serve hot with chutney or sambar.
