Here’s a simple recipe for homemade garlic breadsticks.

In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until frothy.

In a bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil; stir to form a dough and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.

In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and Parmesan cheese.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), punch down the dough, roll it into a rectangle, and cut into 1-inch strips.

Brush the dough strips with the garlic butter mixture. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Place breadsticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Brush with any remaining garlic butter mixture once out of the oven. Serve warm.
