Here's a simple way to make South Indian Coconut Fish Curry in 5 steps.

Marinate the Fish, mix 500 grams of fish with salt, turmeric, and a bit of red chili powder. let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.
Prepare Coconut Paste, blend 1 cup of grated coconut, garlic, ginger, and green chilies with some water to make a smooth paste.
Saute Spices, in a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chopped onion. saute until onions are golden, then add a chopped tomato and cook until soft.
Make the Curry, add the coconut paste, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and 1 cup of water. bring to a gentle simmer.
Add Fish and Simmer, add the marinated fish to the curry. cover and cook on low for 10-15 minutes until the fish is done. serve with rice or appams.
