Here's how to make moong dal soup at home.

Cook the Dal, combine moong dal, water, turmeric, and a pinch of salt in a pot. bring it to a boil, then simmer for 20-25 minutes until soft.

Saute Aromatics, heat oil or ghee in a separate pan. add cumin seeds until they sizzle, then add chopped onions, ginger, and garlic paste, and saute until the onions turn golden.

Add Tomatoes and Chilies, mix in chopped tomatoes and green chilies. cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil starts to separate.

Combine Dal with Aromatics, pour the cooked dal into the pan with the sauteed aromatics. stir well and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.

Season and Enhance, add salt and pepper to taste. optionally, stir in a splash of lemon juice or a pinch of garam masala and simmer for 2-3 more minutes.

Garnish and Serve, remove from heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve hot. enjoy your comforting, nutritious moong dal soup.
