Here's how to make crispy Gujiya for a festive sweet delight at home in 9 easy steps.
Prepare the dough, mix flour, ghee, and salt, rubbing them together. add water gradually and knead into a firm dough. cover and rest for 30 minutes.
Prepare the filling, in a pan, roast crumbled khoya until slightly golden. let it cool, then mix with powdered sugar, grated coconut, nuts, raisins, and cardamom powder.
Roll the dough, take small portions of dough and roll them into thin, small circles.
Stuff the gujiya, place 1-2 teaspoons of filling in the center of each rolled dough circle.
Seal the edges, fold into a half-moon shape, press the edges, and seal using a fork or by twisting the edges.
Heat the oil or ghee, in a deep pan, heat oil or ghee on medium flame.
Fry the gujiyas, fry in batches until golden brown and crisp. remove and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
Coat with sugar syrup, for extra sweetness, dip the fried gujiyas in light sugar syrup and garnish with pistachios.
Serve & enjoy, let them cool and store in an airtight container. serve and relish the festive flavors of Holi.
