Here's a simple 5 step recipe to make creamy homemade gelato.

Prepare the Base, in a saucepan, warm 2 cups of whole milk and 1 cup of heavy cream over low heat, just until it's hot but not boiling. stir occasionally.

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar, in a bowl, whisk 4 egg yolks with ¾ cup of sugar until pale and creamy for a smooth texture.

Combine and Heat, slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly. return it all to the saucepan and cook on low heat, stirring, until it thickens slightly.

Cool and Flavor, remove from heat, let it cool, and add flavoring like vanilla, chocolate, or fruit puree. cover and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours

Churn and Freeze, pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn until smooth and creamy. transfer to a container and freeze for a few hours to achieve a firm texture. enjoy your homemade gelato.
