Here's how to make Beetroot Barfi at home to celebrate this Valentine’s Week in just 7 easy steps.
Cook the beetroot, heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan, add grated beetroot, and saute for 5 minutes until it softens.
Simmer with milk, pour in the milk and cook on medium heat until the beetroot absorbs the milk and turns thick. stir occasionally.
Add sugar & khoya, mix in sugar and khoya, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens further and starts leaving the pan’s sides.
Flavor & texture, add cardamom powder, chopped nuts, and desiccated coconut, mixing well for a rich aroma.
Set the barfi, grease a tray with ghee, spread the mixture evenly, and flatten it. let it cool for 30 minutes.
Cut into shapes, once set, cut into heart-shaped or square pieces for a festive valentine’s touch.
Garnish & serve, sprinkle chopped pistachios on top and enjoy this naturally pink, delicious, and healthy treat.
