Prepare the Dry Fruits and Nuts, chop 1 cup of mixed dry fruits and nuts. soak them in orange juice or apple juice for 4-6 hours to soften and infuse flavor.
Mix the Dry Ingredients, in a bowl, sift 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and a pinch of nutmeg. set aside.
Prepare the Wet Mixture, cream 1/2 cup of butter and 3/4 cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy. add 1/2 cup of yogurt or buttermilk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and mix well.
Combine and Fold, add the soaked dry fruits to the wet mixture. gradually fold in the dry ingredients without overmixing. add 2-3 tablespoons of milk if the batter feels too thick.
Bake, pour the batter into a greased and lined cake tin. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. cool, slice, and enjoy your alcohol-free plum cake.
