Grind the dal, drain and grind soaked moong dal into a coarse paste without adding water.
Roast in ghee, heat ghee in a pan, add the dal paste, and stir continuously until golden brown and
Sweeten & flavor, add sugar, milk, khoya, cardamom, and nuts. stir until halwa thickens.
Make cake batter, in a bowl, mix flour, yogurt, baking powder, and a little sugar.
Layer the cake, grease a baking tin, spread half the cake batter, then layer with moong dal halwa.
Top & bake, add the remaining cake batter on top and bake at 180°C for 25-30 minutes.
Cool & demold, let the cake cool before removing it from the tin.
Garnish and serve, top with chopped nuts and a drizzle of saffron-infused milk. slice and enjoy this rich, festive moong dal halwa cake.
