Here's how to make Thandai for Maha Shivaratri at home.

Soak & Grind the Nuts and Seeds, soak almonds, cashews, poppy seeds, fennel seeds, and melon seeds in water for 2-3 hours. drain and grind into a smooth paste with a little milk.
Boil the Milk, heat milk in a pan and bring it to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Mix the Ingredients, add the ground paste, black pepper, cardamom powder, saffron strands, and sugar to the milk. mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
Cool & Strain, turn off the heat, add rose water, and let the mixture cool. strain the thandai using a fine sieve or muslin cloth to remove any coarse particles.
Chill & Serve, refrigerate for 1-2 hours for a refreshing taste. Pour into glasses, garnish with rose petals or chopped nuts, and serve chilled.
