Here’s a simple recipe for delicious plain milk barfi, a popular Indian sweet!
– 2 cups full-fat milk powder
– 1 cup condensed milk
– 1/4 cup milk (you can adjust as needed)
– 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
– 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
– Chopped nuts for garnish (like almonds or pistachios)
– Grease a square or rectangular tray with a little ghee and set aside.
– In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
– Add the milk powder and mix well, cooking for about 1-2 minutes to remove any raw taste.
– Pour in the condensed milk and mix thoroughly. If the mixture is too thick, add a little milk to achieve a smoother consistency.
– Cook the mixture while stirring continuously for about 5-7 minutes, until it starts to leave the sides of the pan and thickens.
– Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
– Once the mixture is cooked, transfer it to the greased tray. Flatten it evenly using a spatula or your hands.
– Let it cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle chopped nuts on top, pressing them gently into the surface.
– Once cooled completely, cut into desired shapes (squares or diamonds).
– Serve and enjoy your homemade plain milk barfi!
Enjoy your sweet treat!
