– 1 lb (450g) ground beef, chicken, or turkey (or use a mix of meats)
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup tomato sauce or pizza sauce
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1/2 cup sliced black olives
– 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
– 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (any color)
– 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
– 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
– 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or pepperoni slices (optional)
– Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
– Extra Parmesan cheese (optional)
-Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
– In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until fully cooked and browned. Drain any excess fat.
– Stir in the tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the flavors meld together.
– Transfer the meat mixture into oven-safe bowls or a baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
– Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the meat mixture.
– Arrange your choice of toppings (black olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, red onion, cherry tomatoes, bacon, or pepperoni) on top of the cheese.
– Place the bowls or baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the toppings are cooked to your liking.
– Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
