Here’s a delicious recipe for spicy and flavorful chili chicken!
– 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– Oil for frying
– 2 tablespoons oil
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 2-3 green chilies, slit (adjust to taste)
– 1 bell pepper, chopped (any color)
– 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
– 3-4 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon chili sauce (adjust to taste)
– 1 tablespoon vinegar
– 1 tablespoon ketchup
– 1 teaspoon sugar
– Salt to taste
– Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
– In a bowl, combine chicken pieces, soy sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and ginger-garlic paste. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
– Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
– In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of oil. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
– Add green chilies, bell pepper, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
– Add the fried chicken to the pan. Pour in soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and salt. Mix everything well and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
– Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
