CHICKEN KEBAB

Chicken kebabs are skewered pieces of marinated chicken that are grilled or baked to perfection. Here’s a simple and delicious chicken kebab recipe:

1. Ingredients

– 1 lb (450g) chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
– 1/2 cup plain yogurt
– 2 tbsp lemon juice
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tbsp ginger, minced
– 2 tsp ground cumin
– 2 tsp ground coriander
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
– 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp red chili powder (optional, for extra heat)
– Fresh herbs (such as cilantro or parsley), for garnish
– Lemon wedges, for serving

2. Instructions

Step 1- Prepare the Marinade:

In a large bowl, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, black pepper, salt, and red chili powder if using.

Step 2- Marinate the Chicken:

Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.

Step 3- Preheat the Grill:

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. If using skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.

Step 4- Skewer the Chicken:

Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.

Step 5- Grill the Kebabs:

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C).

Step 6- Serve:

Garnish the kebabs with fresh herbs and serve with lemon wedges. They pair well with rice, pita bread, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your flavorful and juicy chicken kebabs!
