– 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
– 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
– 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 tsp sugar
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 cup tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
– 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 2-3 burrata balls (about 8 oz total), drained
– 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
– Fresh basil leaves
– 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
– Salt and freshly ground black pepper
– Optional: 1 tsp red pepper flakes for a bit of heat
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
