Here’s a simple recipe for delicious garlic butter bread rolls!
– 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
– 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 large egg
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 3-4 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)
– 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
– In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 1/2 cups of flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg.
– Mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, gradually add more flour until it’s manageable.
– Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
– Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
– Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12-16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
– Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between them. Cover and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
– Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
– In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt.
– Brush the rolls generously with the garlic butter mixture before baking.
– Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
– Remove from the oven and brush with any remaining garlic butter. Serve warm and enjoy!
