Make Mouthwatering Mirchi Bajji At Home With This Simple Recipe
Mirchi Bajji is a popular Indian street snack made by stuffing large green chillies with a tamarind-peanut filling, coating them in a spicy gram flour batter, and deep-frying until crispy. The dish can be customized with various fillings and is typically served with chutneys. It’s a perfect companion for tea time.
To make Mirchi Bajji, large green chillies are slit and deseeded, optionally stuffed with tamarind paste and peanut powder. A batter made from gram flour, rice flour, and spices like cumin, ajwain, and red chili powder is prepared to coat the chillies. Once dipped in the batter, the chillies are deep-fried until golden and crispy. The bajjis are served with tamarind chutney or mint chutney. You can add extra flavor by stuffing mashed potatoes or paneer into the chillies before frying. The result is a crunchy, flavorful snack perfect for rainy days or tea-time treats.
